With the advent of boiling summer, increasing power cuts become the order of the day. To cope up with it, an inverter charger can be ideal to supply electricity during those dark hours.  The inverter can easily change the DC power into AC power which can further be used to run devices like kitchen appliances, power tools, computers or any other imaginable devices by a simple plug in of the devices into the inverter. These are generally not recommended for high power requirement equipments like electric heaters, air conditioners etc. since they require a high current draw as well as battery utilization. It provides easy access to transferable power in times of need. They can also generate power from batteries which are wired to it parallel. Post every use; it must be recharged through various sources like gas generator, solar energy and many other means.

Available in varied output ranges, they can be perfect for any power needing device. The power capacity of the unit can vary. Generally, for low powered electronic appliances, low power inverters work best but for multiple devices or a high power requirement unit, the higher power supply inverters should be opted for.
A very common inverter is stand-alone inverter which one can easily find on the internet. These stand-alone units can perform just one operation and vary in size range of 75 watts to 5000 watts. Obviously the cost differs on the features offered and the size selected. But the installation process is quite easy to understand and execute.

Predominantly, there are two types of inverters- true-sine wave and the modified-sine wave. The first one generates power which is quite similar to the public utility power grid system. When looked through an oscilloscope, the power wave appears as an even sine wave. Such unit types are the most common available type in the market today. The power wave produced by it is adequate for most devices and thus gives quite an appreciative performance for a great value. Its pays to know that waveform is a critical parameter whenever selecting the right power inverter.

That inverter charger which needs to be AC hardwired cannot be installed as a DIY project and needs the assistance of a licensed electrician or certified installer. This works like magic when one is striving to power a complete circuit to use existing outlets in a cabin, boat.

The inverter with charging capabilities has a power inverter and battery charger in a single unit which makes it a convenient choice for those who wish to avoid multiple components installations. Their installation process is a bit difficult and thus needs a certified technician’s assistance. Post installation, it operates quite smoothly and independently. The most commonly used emergency home back-up power has about 2000 watt. It is also ideal for appliances and cars as a power supplier.
