Drones- A New Way to Take Images of Ground From The Sky

Archeologists nowadays are happy with the use of drones as these drones have enabled them to take the thermal imagery of the ground from the sky.  In older times these archeologists spend almost their entire career in digging holes to discover the ancient societies and their cultures.  By utilizing these drones, the archeologist can do the condition assessment of land, their progress monitoring, documentation of information, Reconstruction and at last the Artifact conservation.

Earlier, archeologist works hard to get the information and have tried and tested different techniques to collect the artifacts. They used helicopters, planes and even hot air balloons to capture the imagery of the land but these all methods proved to be in vain. Other than this archeologist once also employed a student to go with a powered parachute for taking pictures, although this idea was successful but it comprise a much higher level of risk and danger. Also, it was consuming and expensive.

So came up the Drones which used to explore the history. But taking the thermal imagery with drones also requires a lot of management. The idea behind this management of drones is quite interesting. The thermal temperature of landscape keeps changing gradually as over the time of day and night it heats ups and cool downs at a different percentage. For example-if one were to take a shot at daytime and night time then due to thermal inertia, both the pictures will differ a lot. Those temperature changes are not visible to the human eye but the thermal cameras are able to detect the difference and they easily record and pass the gathered information. This use of Drones Aerial Filming is thus done with great care.

Drones can fly for approximately 15 minutes, covering a large portion of land than a balloon can do. Also, they are cheaper and require less detailing. That’s why drones are highly in use. The thermal camera mounted on these drones capture accurate thermal images and reveals the social and political value of the land. These Aerial Drones Reveal Hidden Archaeology and give rise to more illustration of the past and are helping archeologists in making information rich, three-dimensional maps of archeological locales. Since they fly near the ground, they can quantify geological changes inside the ground. The task of mapping which was earlier time consuming when had been finished by hand could take months and years should now be possible in a matter of days.
